SALIENT wishes you Happy Holidays & Happy New Year!

2023, marks a successful year for the SALIENT project, which started only 16 months before, in September 2022.

Over this year, SALIENT partners united twice, for the occasion of the SALIENT General Assembly in La Nucía, Spain & during the third Consortium meeting in Turin, Italy, celebrating SALIENT turning one year “old”!

Wrapping up the highlights of 2023 is worth mentioning the first SALIENT secondment that took place by Mr. Mohab Elmarakbi (Senior Researcher at the University of Northumbria) who crossed continents and was received at the National Institute for Material Science (NIMS) in Tsukuba, Japan.

Notably, SALIENT has exploited Cooperation Agreements (CA), holding a total of 7, aiming to create an active community of knowledge exchange throughout the project.

Over the year, SALIENT has taken form at a steady pace towards material development, an innovative CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) crash box featuring a unique lay-up and crash mechanism was developed for the new Front-End Structure (FES).

The SALIENT activities and developments were disseminated in a total of 7 events.

SALIENT Consortium partners are looking forward to the upcoming year, diving deeper into the evaluation and validation of the FES design and materials developed!
